Midlands Notebook: CenTex (5/30)

News and notes out of Central Texas this week, including a top seven from a four-star prospect, new offers out, and more...

Not as busy a week compared to last, but here's a look at the biggest news to come out of CenTex this week:

FOUR STAR NAMES TOP SEVEN: Pflugerville Hendrickson cornerback P.J. Mbanasor took to Twitter this week to announce his top seven.

In alphabetical order, they were Florida, LSU, Michigan State, Nebraska, Notre Dame, Ohio State and Oklahoma.

Schools left off of the list include Texas, Baylor, TCU (where he was previously committed), Oklahoma State, Texas Tech, Ole Miss, Wisconsin, and Louisville, among others.

"I do not have a legitimate order or numerical order of who is in last or who is in first, but I am slowly working on narrowing things down," Mbanasor told national recruiting analyst Greg Powers.

For more, check out Powers' full story, in which he speaks with Mbanasor about narrowing things down, including a potential timeframe:MBANASOR NAMES FINAL SEVEN.

NEW OFFERS OUT: A few new offers out in CenTex this week. Mbanasor's teammate, Hendrickson receiver Reggie Daniels, picked up an offer from BYU on Thursday.

This is Daniels' second offer; his first came from Tulsa.

Hendrickson offensive lineman Blake Browning had recently mentioned that he hoped in-state interest would soon arrive. On Friday, he 6-foot-1, 285-pound lineman picked up his second offer from UTEP. Browning also holds an offer from Tulsa, and has been hearing from programs including California, UTSA, Iowa State, Kansas, and Vanderbilt.

Leander Cedar Park defensive lineman Myles Cheatum picked up his third offer on Thursday: Fresno State. The 6-foot-3, 253-pound lineman holds other offers from North Texas and Louisiana Tech, and has been hearing from other programs including UTSA, Duke, Vanderbilt, Missouri, and Baylor.

2014 QUARTERBACK HEADED TO SEC: McGregor quarterback Troy Allison is headed to Arkansas, as the signal-caller will attend the program in a preferred walk-on role.

His school tweeted out the news with a picture from the ceremony.
