2006: Earned third letter ... made 26th straight career start in Capital One Bowl win over 12th-ranked Arkansas ... season high-tying five tackles vs. Illinois on Oct. 28 ... one-yard TFL at Purdue on Oct. 21 ... season high-tying five tackles, including a one-yard TFL, in win over Minnesota on Oct. 14 ... blocked extra-point attempt vs. Northwestern on Oct. 7 ... named UW’s defensive player of the week for Michigan game ... four tackles (including a one-yard TFL vs. San Diego State) vs. both San Diego State on Sept. 16 and at sixth-ranked Michigan on Sept. 23 ... registered first TFL (for one yard) of season vs. Western Illinois on Sept. 9 ... named to Lombardi Award watch list.
2005: Honorable mention All-Big Ten ... started all 13 games at defensive tackle ... tied for fourth on team in tackles with 56 (most among UW’s defensive linemen) ... team-high 5.5 QB sacks and tied for second on team with nine TFLs ... team-high three fumble recoveries ... career-high 10 tackles at Northwestern ... forced and then recovered fumble vs. Indiana ... two TFLs vs. both Bowling Green and Illinois ... had QB sack and fumble recovery in Capital One Bowl win over No. 7 Auburn.
2004: Earned first varsity letter ... played in five games as a true freshman … assisted on one tackle at Michigan State.
High School: Named state’s defensive lineman of the year by Wisconsin Football Coaches Association and earned first-team all-state honors (for second straight year) as a senior after making 89 tackles (including 18 TFLs and 11 QB sacks) causing five fumbles and blocking two kicks … also made five receptions for 80 yards and a TD. Two-time conference defensive player of the year … team captain his senior year … as a junior, he made 105 tackles, including 28 TFLs and 21 QB sacks … prep coach was Tom Taraska … also played basketball.
