2001: Earned second varsity letter … played in eight of 12 games, including starts in seven of the first eight … back trouble forced him to miss final four games of season … finished 10th on team with 34 tackles … solid performance vs. 19th-ranked Fresno State with career-high 10 tackles and two pass breakups … other top outings included six stops vs. Western Kentucky and five vs. Virginia.
2000: Made the Big Ten academic honor squad in first year of eligibility ... started 10 games ... shared time with Bryson Thompson, his high school teammate ... credited with 55 tackles ... that is the highest total for a freshman linebacker during the Barry Alvarez era ... recorded a career-high eight stops at No. 9 Michigan ... other top games came against Michigan State (seven), Indiana (seven) and Oregon (six).
