Plato was involved in a serious automobile accident in May of 2006 that caused nerve damage to his arm sought medical treatment that ultimately was repaired with a nerve transplanted from his back. Plato earned back a year of eligibility after the accident and this season the senior had five catches for 94 yards and one touchdown as a tight end and 21 tackles and one sack on defense.
Has great physical skills without the big number stats due to the type of offense he plays in. Average 25 yards per catch as a junior but was used more as a blocker helping Minnesota signee E.J. Jones rush for over 1500 yards. Also recorded 34 tackles with 5 sacks and 4 tackles for loss. Forced 2 fumbles while recovering one for a touchdown. |
