Losing three of its last four games to drop out of the race for the MacNaughton Cup and needing a late run to get back in the NCAA Tournament discussion, Wisconsin hockey's regular-season series finale against No.6 North Dakota is, without question, the most vital if UW wants to play in April.

No.6 North Dakota (21-11-4, 16-6-4 WCHA) vs. No.19 Wisconsin (16-14-4, 13-10-3 WCHA)

Date/Time - Friday-Saturday, March 6-7 at 7 p.m. CT

Arena – Kohl Center (15,237) - 200’ x 97’

Television - Live on MyMadisonTV. Tape delayed on Wisconsin Public Television

Radio - Wisconsin Radio Network (Brian Posick and Mike Cerniglia)

Series – Wisconsin leads 81-59-10 (42-23-3 in Madison)

Last Meeting – Wisconsin earned its fi rst win of the season on Nov. 1 in Grand Forks, N.D., with a 5-2 come-from-behind victory. The teams split the series as UND took the first game, 3-2.

Series Notes

This will mark the 151st and 152nd meetings between the two schools. UND has taken two of the last three games in the series at the Kohl Center, including last spring’s overtime victory in the 2008 NCAA Midwest Regional Final, but the UW is 6-3-0 in the building against UND since the 2003–04 season

Wisconsin Notes

The UW sits in fourth place, just one point behind third-place Colorado College with a game at hand on the Tigers, and two points ahead of three teams tied for fifth place and the final WCHA first-round playoff spot.

The Badgers need two points to guarantee a first-round home playoff series, but can still get home ice without it, depending upon other team results. Three points and the Badgers would clinch third place.

The Badgers currently hold the tie break over Minnesota, Minnesota Duluth and Colorado College. St. Cloud State is the only team that could possibly win a tie break with the Badgers, but that is still to be determined depending upon upcoming results.

The Badgers are 13-6-2 over their last 19 league contests dating back to Nov. 1, and 6-4-0 at home during that stretch, though just 2-4-0 over the last six home league contests.

Among Wisconsin’s last seven losses, six have come by just one goal.

Wisconsin has outshot its opponent in each of its last four games and posted at least 35 shots in each contest, but is just 0-3-1 during that stretch.
