MADISON - Wisconsin forward Joe Krabbenhoft has always been about the team's success before his own.
He'll likely view this achievement in the same light but without his contributions, the Badgers would not be sitting as pretty.
Averaging 12.5 points and 7.0 rebounds per outing, Krabbenhoft earns his first conference player of the week honor in leading Wisconsin to a 17-point home win over Iowa on Wednesday and a five-point win over No.24 Ohio State on Saturday.
Krabbenhoft is the first Badger to win the honor in over a year (Brian Butch - December 31, 22007) and shares the honor with Michigan State freshman forward Delvon Roe (who posted his first career double-double in a win over Michigan).
In the win over Iowa, the Sioux Falls, S.D. native tied his career high with 16 points on 7-of-10 shooting, pulled down six rebounds and registered three assists, two blocks and two steals.
Against the Buckeyes, Krabbenhoft scored nine points, including the go-ahead three-pointer with 2:04 left and key free throws with :37 seconds left. He also led Wisconsin with eight rebounds, four assists, a career-best six steals and only one turnover.
Overall, Krabbenhoft connected on 9-of-14 shots from the floor (.643) and 6-of-7 (.857) from the charity stripe.
Wisconsin (16-9, 7-6 Big Ten) prepared this week for its game Thursday at Indiana (6-18, 1-11 Big Ten). The game will be at 8 p.m. CT on ESPN2.
