Looking to Make A Big Impression

Talented Clairton (Pa.) wide receiver Kevin Weatherspoon has only one offer under his belt, but is drawing plenty of interest from top FBS schools around the country.

Junior wide receiver Kevin Weatherspoon has been keeping himself busy this off-season while wondering what the future holds for him. This past season was a successful one for him as his team made it all the way to the state championship game. Although they didn't come out with a win, Weatherspoon did accumulate some impressive statistics this past season.

"I had 1,474 receiving yards with 58 catches, 25 of those catches were touchdowns," Weatherspoon told Badger Nation. "On the defensive side of the ball I had 8 interceptions for touchdowns."

For the summer, Weatherspoon, who holds just one offer (Pittsburgh) plans on going to the biggest and most notable camps so that all the different coaches can get a taste of what he can bring at the next level. Weatherspoon is getting a wide variety of schools to look at him but he doesn't want to narrow it down just yet.

"I love schools such as Miami and Ohio State but I would like to have about 15-20 different schools bring in offers." said Weatherspoon.

Weatherspoon knows that if Wisconsin, who has shown inte were his final choice he would bring great qualities that would be beneficial for the program on and off the field.

"I would be motivational, out going, a role model for my teammates off the field," he said. "On the field I would be a hard worker and give 110 percent and at the same time be humble and listen to my coaching staff and teammates."

While Weatherspoon still has his senior year to try and win a state championship for his school he knows that off-season is the most crucial time to improve your physical well being along with your game.

"I'm an all around athlete playing basketball, baseball & track," said Weatherspoon. "I've been lifting all the time along with making improvements to my vertical and my acceleration."

While he doesn't know what the future in college football holds for him, Weatherspoon is staying focused and will continue to show Division 1 schools, including the Badgers, the type of player and person that he is and the impact that he could have for their school.
