Anthony Davis was stabbed in a domestic dispute this morning, but has been released from the University of Wisconsin hospital. Here is the official release from the UW sports information department.

MADISON, Wis. -- Anthony Davis, a sophomore running back with the Wisconsin football team, was hospitalized in Madison Sunday morning after being stabbed in the leg during an altercation.

Davis was admitted to the hospital for treatment and observation and could be released as early as Monday, according to UW team physician Dr. Ben Graf.

"I was notified about this incident Sunday morning," UW head coach Barry Alvarez said. "I have spoken with Anthony. My concern right now is for his health. I don't know whether or not he will play against Illinois on Saturday. As for the altercation, we are in a position of waiting until the incident has been investigated."

The Madison Police Department is investigating the incident.
