It's Signing Day!
Also signing with the Badgers today was Robert Wilson, a 6-foot-4, 180-pound, shooting guard, from Garfield Heights, Ohio.
"I've already had my press conference where I announced my intentions for Wisconsin so today was low-key. I signed with my coaches and family present.
"I'm excited to be a Badger. It's a family up there and that's why I picked Wisconsin over other programs. Wisconsin offers a great education and the coaches are going to make me a better player."
Ian Markolf and his Churchhill High School teammates in San Antonio, Texas, suffered an overtime loss last night. The 7-foot-1, 250-pound, center told Badger Nation that although the team was pretty down last night, today is going to brighten his mood a bit.
"Today is a big day for my family and friends," Ian Markolf said. "We had a ceremony this morning at school. I signed my Wisconsin Letter-of-Intent and we had a girl from our school sign her basketball letter-of-intent as well.
"I can't wait to be a Badger. The program is hitting on all cylinders and I can't wait to be a part of it. I love the school. I love the coaches and the rest of the guys on the team. They are a bunch of talented players and it's going to be an honor to take the court with them."
Scout.com National Recruiting-Analyst Dave Telep had this to say about Wisconsin's recruiting class.
"This is one of the strongest efforts in the Big Ten and nearly a Top 25 class." Telep said. "Jordan Taylor will eventual start for the Badgers later in his career. Jared Berggren's body was made big Big Ten banging.
"Their additions continue the footprint Bo Ryan has established in Minnesota. Mix in a big man who needs seasoning but has a ceiling in Markolf and a late blooming scorer in Wilson and it's another class of note for the Badgers."
