Verbally committed wide receiver Wes Kemp made the trip to Madison this past Saturday night. The 6-foot-4, 215-pounder, from St. Louis (Mo.) DeSmet had a great time watching the Badgers victory over Iowa and he went from hunted to hunter the rest of the weekend.
“I had a great official visit,”
Wes Kemp
told Badger Nation. “
Nick Toon
was my host. I arrived in Madison on Saturday morning. I got the chance to meet with the strength & conditioning coach as well as a few academic advisors.
“I’m going to major in business and I did get the chance to meet a couple of the business school advisors which was very cool.
Wisconsin
has one of the best business schools in the country.
“The game was absolutely amazing. I’ve seen the “Jump Around” on YouTube but there’s nothing like being there.
"It was crazy. There were 84,000 screaming Badger fans on their feet for the entire game. That was the kind of atmosphere that I can’t wait to be in.
“After the game, we were taken to the locker room and I got the chance to talk to a lot of the guys. I hung out with Nick Toon and
Jonathan Casillas
for most of the night.”
Kemp was joined in Madison by several other verbally committed prospects including
Peter Konz
,
Tyler Westphal
and
Jake Byrne
.
Did Kemp and his future teammates put the full-court press on
Jon Major
or the other prospects that were on their official visits.
“I definitely got the chance to talk to Jon Major,” Kemp said. “We had a real good conversation.
"He had a great time and he told me that it was going to be
Oklahoma
or Wisconsin. I don’t know if he was just telling what I wanted to hear but he seemed sincere.
“I also talked to
Anthony Mains
and
Jake Stoller
and I feel very good about them joining our recruiting class.
"They had a really good time as well. You never know with recruiting. Anything can happen but I know all the guys on official visits had a great time.”
