Badgers Still in the Mix

WR Brandon Green

Chicago (Ill.) Robeson wide receiver Brandon Green has been waiting for this his entire life. The 6-foot, 175-pounder, has been groomed to play D-1 football since the third grade. So when pushed to name favorites and leader for his services, he's quick and to the point.

"Everybody that has offered me is a favorite right now." Brandon Green said. "I'm being totally honest. I know people want me to narrow things down but I have a lot of good offers and I don't think I'll be narrowing anything down until later in my senior season.

"I have scholarship offers from Illinois, Iowa, Eastern Michigan, Michigan State, Minnesota, Northwestern, Kansas State, Cincinnati, Purdue, Wisconsin, Colorado, Iowa State, Indiana and West Virginia."

Green has been a starter on the varsity at Robeson since his freshman year. As a junior, Brandon had 1,100 yards receiving and scored 21 touchdowns. He was also a standout cornerback.

"I owe a lot of my success to my father (Jeff Bryant)," said Green. "My father had me playing football when I was real young. He saw the talent in me and he knew that once I got to Robeson that I'd be starting on the varsity as a freshman. My dad is one our assistant coaches."

In today's recruiting world, it seems like every prospect tries to attend as many camps and combines as possible but not Brandon Green. Green chose to attend two camps and since Brandon chooses not to name a leader right now, these two schools could have a leg up on the others.

"I camped at Illinois and Minnesota." Green said. "Illinois has done a great job of getting a lot of the talent from in-state to commit to them. I know a lot of guys on the team already and I get a long great with the coaches.

"I also camped at Minnesota and had a great time. Minnesota has been recruiting me the hardest of any school. They have been showing me a ton of interest and that's why I camped there. There was a great atmosphere at Minnesota when I went to camp and I got along with the players."

Green is adamant in claiming that he doesn't have a list of schools that are out in front for his services but when pressed, he had this to say.

"Illinois, Iowa, Minnesota, Wisconsin, Michigan State, Northwestern and West Virginia are the schools I'm looking at the hardest right now but again, I haven't called any school to tell them to stop recruiting me. I haven't narrowed anything down yet.

"I have one official visit set up. I'm going to Minnesota (9/28) for the Ohio State game. That's it for right now but I'm not in a real hurry. I still plan on committing after the season." Recommended Stories
