Receiver suspended; may return to practice April 3

Marcus Randle El, a wide receiver on the University of Wisconsin football team, plead not guilty to a misdemeanor disorderly conduct charge Monday in Dane County Circuit Court, according to court records.

Randle El, 18, was arrested March 7 on a tentative battery charge after an alleged altercation with his girlfriend in his campus dorm room, but was formally charged with disorderly conduct Monday. Randle El is free on signature bond; a pre-trial conference has been set for April 14.

Randle El has been suspended for half of the Badgers’ spring practices and can return to practice no earlier than April 3.
