Lesha Jones, who was suspended indefinitely from the Wisconsin women’s basketball team Feb. 15, was charged with felony burglary Monday in Dane County Circuit Court, according to court records.
Jones, who was redshirting this year with the Badgers, is free on signature bond. A status conference is scheduled for March 7.
According to the Associated Press, Jones is accused of entering a room in a campus dorm and stealing a purse, which included two credit cards, a debit card and $25 cash.
The criminal complaint said Jones admitted stealing the items and using the credit cards to charge more $4,000 to U.S. Cellular, the Daily Cardinal reported.
At her hearing Monday, Jones stood mute and a not guilty plea was entered on her behalf.

Men’s golf falls to Aztecs
The Wisconsin men’s golf team lost a dual matchup with San Diego State Saturday and Sunday. The Badgers carded a 600 in the two-day event, while the Aztecs posted a 586.
In UW’s first dual meet of the spring season, Garrett Jones paced the Badgers with a 142, including a 69 in Sunday’s final round. Adam DeLawyer (76-71=147), Brian Brodell (76-75=151), Jeff Kaiser (82-79=161) and Ryan Conn (81-86=167) also posted scores for UW.
