Georgia defensive end David Pollack wins inaugural award

Jim Leonhard finished third in the first annual voting for the Lott Trophy, which was awarded Sunday. The University of Wisconsin free safety is an Academic All-American and Academic Big Ten selection.

Georgia defensive end David Pollack won the award, the first to equally recognize athletic performance and the personal character attributes of the player. Texas linebacker Derrick Johnson was the runner-up.
