Former Badger to enter court Thursday

Former Wisconsin defensive tackle Wendell Bryant was arrested for drunken driving June 27 near Camp Randall Stadium. He will appear in Dane County Circuit Court Thursday, facing charges of operating a vehicle under the influence, operating a vehicle with a prohibited alcohol concentration of .10 percent or more, exceeding speed zones and failing to stop for a flashing red light signal.

According to the Associated Press, UW-Madison police said a reckless driver was spotted at around 4:30 a.m. June 27 and police found the car in a parking lot. The car departed from the store and ran a flashing red light and, before it was pulled over, reached speeds of approximately 45 miles per hour in a 25-mph area.

Bryant is fifth all-time at Wisconsin with 24 sacks. He also had 189 career tackles, 41 of which were for a loss. He was selected by the Arizona Cardinals No. 12 overall in 2002.
