INDIANAPOLIS, Ind.—Following Wisconsin’s 70-53 win over
Illinois in the Big Ten Tournament Championship game, Badger junior point guard
Devin Harris was unanimously voted the tournament’s Most Outstanding Player.
Harris scored 71 points in three tourney games, and also
had 10 assists, 11 rebounds, one block and five steals. He connected on 25 of 46
shots and 9 of 24 3-pointers.
Harris was joined on the all tourney team by teammate
junior Mike Wilkinson, Northwestern senior guard Jitim Young and Illinois
sophomore guards Deron Williams and Dee Brown. Harris, Wilkinson and Brown were
unanimous selections.
Wilkinson scored 53 points and had four assists, 16
rebounds, five blocks and eight steals in three games.
Young scored 38 points and grabbed 10 rebounds in two
tournament games. Northwestern won its first-round game, 57-52, over Penn State
and lost 68-55 to Michigan State in the conference quarterfinals.
Williams had 41 points, 17 assists, seven rebounds, one
block and one steal in three games.
Brown had 38 points, 10 assists, six rebounds, one block
and eight steals in helping lead the Illini to a runner-up finish in the
tournament.
