The rebuilding of Wisconsin’s offensive line continued Friday night.
Wisconsin added another piece to their recruiting class when San Marcos (CA) offensive tackle Kevin Estes pledged to the Badgers. He becomes the 19th commitment in this class and the fourth offensive lineman, joining four-star prospects David Moorman (Northville, MI) and Jon Dietzen (Seymour, WI) and three-star prospect Sam Madden (Barnegat, NJ).
Thank you to the colleges who have offered, I am honored. Tonight I'm proud to announce my commitment to the Univ. of Wisconsin. Go Badgers!— Kevin Estes (@Kevin_EstesFB) August 16, 2014
The 6-5, 250-pound tackle is ranked the No. 55 offensive tackle in the nation and a three-star recruit by Scout. He held offers from Arizona, Arizona State, Boise State, BYU, California, Colorado State, Duke, Miami (Fl), Nevada, Oregon State, San Diego State, San Jose State, Utah, Washington State. He was also receiving interest from Oregon, UCLA and Washington as well.
“It was a big deal for me and my family and I was honored,” Estes said after getting the Wisconsin offer. “Wisconsin is known as "O-Line U" so that meant a lot.”
With the commitment of Estes, Wisconsin could possibly only take one more offensive lineman in class. All the linemen in this class stand above 6-5 and weigh an average of 289 pounds.
