Wisconsin landed one of its top defensive targets late in July when Miami (FL) Gulliver Prep senior outside linebacker Dominic Sheppard committed to the Badgers over many high major schools. Now the Badgers are chasing after his teammate in junior cornerback Brandon Shuman, offering him Tuesday night.
“I called the Wisconsin coach last night, we were talking, he told me they were interested in me and they said they offered me,” Shuman told BadgerNation. “I had a very happy reaction. It did surprise me, and I like the fact that they have a lot of interest in me. I love the fact they are a big education school, too.”
The 6-0, 172-pound corner has a strong friendship with Sheppard, and he already knows he will hear even more about Wisconsin now.
“We have a very close relationship,” said Shuman. “We are like best friends, and we do talk about Wisconsin. It kind of helps knowing he is there.”
Although he holds offers from Alcorn State, Cincinnati, Florida International, Southern Alabama, Western Michigan and Wisconsin, Shuman is focused more on his upcoming pivotal junior season than his recruitment.
“I’m very interested in Wisconsin, but I don’t have a top list yet," said Shuman. "I do plan on visiting them and I don’t have any upcoming visits. As far as my game, I would describe me as an athletic player. I feel like I’m a ball hawk and I’m a hard that hitter. I am also very aggressive. I am working on more of my technique and can’t wait for the season.”
