Badgers Score with Sheppard

Although he had offers from schools like Alabama, Miami, Notre Dame, Ohio State and Tennessee, Miami Gulliver Prep senior outside linebacker Dominic Sheppard decided the Badgers were the right school for him.

Wisconsin dipped into the Sunshine State and made a splash once again.

Originally planning on releasing his top five schools at the end of the month, Miami Gulliver Prep outside linebacker Dominic Sheppard decided to release his commitment on Twitter that he was committing to the Badgers’ 2015 recruiting class.

The 17th commit in the 2015 class, Sheppard joins fellow linebacker commits Loganville (GA.) Grayson outside linebacker Mohamed Barry, Desoto (TX.) outside linebacker Chris Orr and Bradenton (FL.) IMG Academy middle linebacker Nick Thomas.

Sheppard is the No. 61 ranked outside linebacker in the nation and a three star recruit. He is now the third Florida native to join the 2015 Badger class (WR Andrew James and Thomas).

The 6-1, 210-pound physical linebacker held an impressive offer list with offers from Alabama, Boston College, Cincinnati, Clemson, Florida Atlantic, Georgia Tech, Illinois, Louisville, Miami, Notre Dame, Ohio State, Pittsburgh, South Florida, Syracuse, Tennessee, UCF, Vanderbilt and West Virginia. He was also hearing from Auburn, Florida State and LSU.

As a sophomore, Sheppard had 55 tackles, six sacks and four tackles for loss mainly as a defensive end.
