While a decision for Sachse (TX) three-star running back Devine Ozigbo has not been made quite yet, the process is underway and the lines of communication are open between a variety of schools. The next item on that list is to start visiting schools, including Wisconsin.
"Last time I talked to Wisconsin was a week ago," Ozigbo told BadgerNation. "We were trying to decide what the best time to visit would be."
Ozigbo is the No. 84 running back prospect on Scout.com. He has also garnered interest – and offers – from Miami, Iowa, Minnesota, Boise State and Baylor, among many others.
"I went to SMU, but I haven't been to many places yet," Ozigbo said.
Ozigbo isn't a tall back, listed at 5-11, but he's got the size to be powerful in a run-heavy Big Ten offense at 213 pounds. He showed his versatility last season, running for 947 yards and 13 touchdowns and adding 311 yards receiving with two more scores as a junior.
With such a large list of interested schools, slimming it down to a reasonable number to choose from is going to be a process in itself for Ozigbo.
"It's going to be a little bit of both," he said. "I might have to narrow down so I can start focusing, but eventually I'm going to have to go off my gut."
One of the factors for his decision will be if the school feels right and the offense fits his style. Ozigbo likes Wisconsin's system, especially with the addition of running backs coach Thomas Brown.
"I think it's pretty good," he said of Wisconsin adding a former running back as a coach. "He's a good guy. I met him a few times and had a chance to watch him (coach) practice one day. We got a chance to talk. I talked to him a few times over the phone, so yeah I feel a little connection with coach (Brown)."
Ozigbo said he hopes to wrap up the process before the first game of his senior season.
Still in search for a running back in the class of 2015, Wisconsin running back coach Thomas Brown continues to build a relationship with Sachse (TX) three-star running back Devine Ozigbo.
