Stanley 'Really Excited' About Wisconsin

After recruiting Fairburn (GA) Creekside junior wide receiver Jayson Stanley while he was coaching at Marshall, new Wisconsin running back coach Thomas Brown has offered the three-star wide receiver a scholarship at his new job.

Wisconsin's new running backs coach, Thomas Brown is already hard at work on the recruiting trail and extended an offer out in the Peach State to Fairburn (GA) Creekside junior wide receiver Jayson Stanley.

"The new running backs coach, Coach Brown, talked to my head coach and when I got out of school, I still didn't know," Stanley told BadgerNation. "When I got on Twitter, he contacted me and said he told my head coach already and told me about it as well. I was kind of surprised. I had been messaging Coach Brown a little bit, so I was surprised the offer came this early. I am really excited about the offer and we will just have to wait and see what happens.

"I really don't know much about Wisconsin, but I really like to take a visit. As soon as I talk to Coach Brown, I will ask about visiting for a junior day or spring practice."

The 6-3, 205-pound physical and fast wide out had a strong connection to Brown from his previous coaching stop at Marshall.

"I am pretty close with Coach Brown," said Stanley. "When he was at Marshall he came to my school and starting recruiting me. He came out once and I have just been messaging him a lot through Twitter. He just basically tells me that he wants me to come up and visit. He really wants me to play there and he must have shown the coaches something good when they were talking about me."

Stanley is an early three-star recruit in the Scout.com rankings and could see that rise with his recent spike in his recruitment. He discusses that, visits and what's makes him such a special player.

"My recruitment is going real good and I am enjoying it," said Stanley. "I am really ready to take some visits and I got offers from Alabama, Kentucky, California, Auburn, Purdue and now Wisconsin. I don't have a top list yet. As far as visits, I am going to Clemson next week and I am not sure where I am going this week, but I know I got that visit scheduled.

"I got speed to my game. I feel like I can do everything all around as a receiver. I ran the forty last Sunday at the Adidas Showcase and I was clocked at a 4.36 forty time. Everybody that we usually play against can't keep up with me, plus I got size and strength. I definitely will work on my route running for next season and that will be my main focus."
