Badgers Offer Rutgers Commit

After appearing to offer most of the uncommitted prospects it wants in the 2014 recruiting class, the Wisconsin coaching staff are now targeting the committed prospects high on their list.

After seemingly offering every elite non-committed player in the 2014 recruiting class, the Wisconsin football coaching staff is now targeting players that have already picked other programs.

In what has been an aggressive recruiting period for head coach Gary Andersen and his staff, the Badgers have offered Rutgers commit Newark (NJ) Weequahic outside linebacker Sidney Gopre.

"I have an offer from Wisconsin, but I don't remember when I got it," Gorpe told Badger Nation. "They said they would like me to come down for an unofficial visit sometime. The football exposure at Wisconsin is something that is a big plus to me. I will tell you that I was pumped about the offer when I got it."

Sitting as the No. 35 outside linebacker in the nation by Fox Sports Next and a three star athlete, Gopre is still pulling in offers despite committing to the Scarlet Knights on March 4. Now the 6-1, 210-pound defender is still figuring out what his summer plans will detail.

"I'm still looking around, but I got offers from Michigan State, Temple, Syracuse, Nebraska, Miami, Pittsburgh, Iowa, Duke and Penn State," said Gopre. "Right now, I don't have any visit or camps plans as of yet for this summer.

Gopre knows he has skills on the football field from how well his recruitment has gone. He still feels he still has some fine retuning to do with his play, but likes what he built as a foundation.

"I know you never will be a complete player because there will always things you do better, but I do feel my game is very good," he said. "I am very aggressive and fast along with relentless when it comes to attacking to get to the ball. My high motor and smart play really makes me a player that understands the game."
