"Yes sir my college announcement will be this week," Newby said. "It will be either on Monday or Tuesday at my school after school. I don't know which day yet, but I should know that pretty soon."

Newby has only taken an official visit to Nebraska, but had a number of other visits scheduled this month including trips to UCLA, Oregon and California that would fall after when he plans to announce.

Newby says that he is really down to two schools. "I am down to just Nebraska and UCLA. Those are my final two."
