A trio of defenders will be carrying the Penn State banner at the NFL's annual all-star game. Two are making return appearances and one has been selected for the first time.

Three Penn State products will be represented in the 2013 NFL Pro Bowl. But you might have to take a second glance at the rosters to know exactly who, as two of the former Nittany Lions have changed their names since leaving Happy Valley.

Miami Dolphins' defensive end Cameron Wake, who was known as Derek Wake while at PSU in the early 2000s, has been selected as a starter for the AFC. So has Kansas City Chiefs' outside linebacker Tamba Hali, a star defensive end for the Lions through 2005.

In the NFC, San Francisco 49ers linebacker NaVorro Bowman was named a Pro Bowl reserve. Known as Navorro Bowman at PSU, he wrapped up his collegiate career in 2009.

For Wake, the selection was his second in the last three years. He was also picked for the 2011 Pro Bowl. This is Hali's second-straight Pro Bowl appearance.

Bowman is headed to the Pro Bowl for the first time.

The Pro Bowl is slated for Jan. 27 in Honolulu. Recommended Stories
