2014 Intro: Terry Wallen

Brookfield Central (Wisc.) junior cornerback Terry Wallen has speed and ball skills.

Terry Wallen filled up his junior highlight tape with leaping interceptions, athletic pass breakups and all around playmaking ability.

Throw in his height (6'0) and speed (4.5) and the Brookfield Central star is a prospect more and more schools are likely to recruit over the next year. Not bad for a guy who only just started playing defensive back.

"I played varsity as a sophomore. I think it was a great experience. Junior year was easier, and I was able to adapt better, so it was an advantage over other players who didn't start sophomore year. The seniors helped me. They taught me tricks to help me out. It was my first year playing DB, so I learned fast. It was fun."

Right now, Wallen says he is hearing from "mostly Big Ten schools, and smaller D1 schools."

Because he also plays basketball, he has only been able to take one unofficial visit this year, to Michigan State.

"It was a great experience. It was really fun going to see the facilities and the game. I got to see the players up front in drills. It was fun and it'd be insane to play at a place like that."

The visit also allowed Wallen to speak with a Spartan coaching staff, one which has actively recruited his home state the last few years/

"They all introduced themselves. I talked to the recruiting coach. We had a conversation for awhile. It seemed like they knew what they were doing. They're very focused on academics. It seemed like a good program."

Brookfield Central has been kind to Wisconsin over the last few years, sending a couple of players the Badgers' way. Wallen hasn't heard much, but there has been some contact.

"We've talked a little bit. I haven't had much contact, some emails, not too much, but we talked and they said they would get back to me."

To hear more from the school would be something Wallen would welcome.

"I've grown up mostly a Badger fan, but more college too, I watch all the schools."

Wallen did not go to any college camps last summer, but did go to the National Underclassman Combine.
