UW: Senior Day Surprise

Penn State unveils special "42" helmets to honor injured linebacker Michael Mauti. The helmets are being worn in Saturday's game with Wisconsin.

Penn State had not had numbers on its helmets since the 1974 season.

But that changed Saturday.

To honor senior linebacker Michael Mauti, whose season ended with serious knee injury sustained in a win against Indiana last week, every Nittany Lion is wearing Mauti's No. 42 on their helmets for today's Senior Day game with Wisconsin.

You can see an example of the helmets in the photo above, which was Tweeted by Penn State athletics.
