Senior forward Jared Berggren led all scorers with 19 points while junior guard Ben Brust registered his first career double-double as No.23 Wisconsin started the 2012-13 season with a bang, coasting past Southeastern Louisiana, 87-47, at the Kohl Center.

Notes:Mike Bruesewitz saw his first action since suffering a right led laceration on Oct.9. He scored 10 points on 3-for-3 shooting in 13 minutes ... UW announced prior to the game that junior Duje Dukan will redshirt this season. Dukan has been struggling to regain his strength after suffering from mono in September ... The Badgers have now won 11 consecutive season openers. Including Sunday afternoon, the average margin of victory in those 11 openers is 29.5 points ... Wisconsin's 87 points marked the Badgers' largest scoring output since an 87-48 win over NC State on Dec. 1, 2010 ... The Badgers opened the game on a 19-0 run and held Southeastern Louisiana scoreless over the game's first 7 minutes, 23 seconds. UW hit its largest lead of the game, 41 points, twice in the late stages of the second half.
