After transferring into De La Salle High in Chicago last year, Mikale Wilbon literally hit the ground running. The 5'9, 190-lb sophomore kept running too until he had amassed 1,634 yards and 14 touchdowns on his way to All-Conference honors.
Now he is looking to show colleges that he is scholarship worthy, and is already making it known that he has the necessary speed.
"I did track in the indoor season, not the outdoor season. I ran a forty, I think, a week or two weeks ago. I went to a National Underclassman Combine and I ran a 4.42."
While he is just starting to get his name out, Wilbon is already hearing from a number of high profile programs.
"I'm getting mail from Wisconsin, Michigan, Kansas, Illinois, and Minnesota. The only school I visited was Illinois. I went to some games. It was good. I like the campus and the weight room is nice."
This summer, Wilbon will hit the camp circuit so some of these schools, and a few others, can see his explosiveness up close.
"I was thinking about going to Iowa, Michigan, Ohio State and probably Illinois."
