Badgers Get Their Wide Receiver

Taking his official visit to the University of Wisconsin, Boca Raton, Florida, wide receiver Reggie Love gets an offer and gives a verbal commitment to the University of Wisconsin.

MADISON - After putting such a high priority on finding a dynamic wide receiver in the 2012 recruiting class, Wisconsin finally got a future playmaker that it desperately coveted.

Reggie Love, a 6-2, 200-pound receiver from Spanish River (FL) HS, gave the Badgers his verbal commitment following his official visit to the campus for the game against Purdue.

"Yes sir, I just committed to Wisconsin," Love told Badgernation.com via text message.

Love – who picked Wisconsin over offers from Boston College, Georgia State, Middle Tennessee and UCF and strong interest from Maryland, Miami, Mississippi State and Wake Forest – is the top receiving threat and one of the few bright spots on his team, leading the Sharks (2-6) in catches (34), yards (686) and touchdowns (9).

Love headed to Wisconsin not having an offer, but having received strong interest from defensive line coach Charlie Partridge. With head coach Bret Bielema sticking with his rule of having recruits visit campus before receiving an official offer, Love got rewarded when he finally made the trip.

Love is the 12th verbal commitment for Wisconsin in the 2012 class and the third offensive skill player. The Badgers recruiting class is not expected to be more than 15.
